This is a kind of Veronica. There are about 500 species of them, also called Speedwell.
Small ones are the first on my lawn to grow, just few centimeters high. These ones start to blossom in July and get high as about 50 cm!
The German word for them is Ehrenpreis (Price of Honour). Not bad! I think they should be honoured more.
Many see them as weeds, which I do not understand at all. The colour varies from light blue to deep purple. Best colours for a colourful garden! And the bees love them too 🙂
