Drink, bee, drink

Thirsty bees in the bee’s pub. They seem to be chatting about the fountains water supply. It gets less this year

Lizard parent and kid

In the sun, its warm. And it seems safe on the wooden block where they were only seen by chance. At first sight I thought the little one is a lost tail of the big one! Only my camera zoom and slowly coming closer did show the cute little reptile.

Silver-washed fritillary

This was the day of the Silver-washed fritillary weddings. There were many of them fluttering about in flutters. German: Kaisermantel, the emperor’s coat. That fits!

Hop hop

Another bee’s neighbour! What a giant hopper, well armed. When I zoomed into this picture I thought this is a comic illustrated super heroes special armor. And look at those antennas! Twice as long as the bug itself. The eyes? Extraordinary!

Propeller Bee

I did it again! Got it in the air 🙂 I was so thrilled, that I didn’t look at the flower properly. So I can’t find out, what kind of blossom this is. Can anyone help??

Bee’s neighbour…

… can also be a bee’s predator. This one was a perfect model to test my new camera. Was a good choice. Have a look at this great sculpture of the frog and the bee.

Such a colourful beezfood!

The Echinacea is not only healthy but so very nice, too! I will try to get those ones for my garden next year. Bees like them for sure. The commonly used German word is Sonnenhut. A sun hat.

Brimstone-Lemon Butterfly

This butterfly is called Zitronenfalter in German. Lemon butterfly. The literal translation from English to German would be Schwefelfalter. That does sound smelly and not as nice? The butterflies are attacing my butterfly bush these days 😀
